Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State expressed that he has gained valuable knowledge from his predecessor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who he acknowledges as highly experienced in governance and leadership. During a grand reception held in honor of Okowa at Owa Model College in Boji-Boji, Owa, Ika North-East Local Government Area, Governor Oborevwori reiterated his administration’s commitment to fairness, justice, and equality for all parts of the state.
He promised to ensure equal treatment of all senatorial districts in terms of projects and appointments, emphasizing his goal to serve all Deltans and be a Governor for everyone. Governor Oborevwori praised the Ika nation for organizing the reception to celebrate Okowa’s achievements, acknowledging the positive impact he made during his eight-year tenure as governor.
Expressing gratitude to the Ika nation for the reception, Governor Oborevwori appealed to the people of Delta State to extend their love and support to his administration. He also approved the request from the Council Chairmen, Hon. Victor Ebonka and Hon. Sunny Tatabuzuogu, to name the Old Lagos-Asaba Road, which traverses Ika North East and Ika South LGAs, after Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
In his response, Okowa expressed his excitement and gratitude for the warm reception, stating that returning home to such a reception brings him peace and joy. He expressed his belief that the support shown by the people reflects their willingness to welcome him at any time. Okowa urged the people of Delta State to extend their support to the Oborevwori administration in advancing the state through its M.O.R.E. agenda.
