Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State assured that his administration will continue providing funding for ongoing projects throughout the state to ensure their prompt completion. He made this statement during an inspection of the Ughelli-Asaba road dualisation project, specifically Sector ‘A’ in Emevor and Sector ‘C’ in Ogwashi-Uku and Ibusa. Governor Oborevwori praised the contractor for the progress made so far in Sector ‘A’ and emphasized the significance of the road for all residents of Delta State. He urged the contractor to increase their efforts to ensure the project is finished early, promising to regularly pay their certificates for work completed. The governor also expressed his intention to monitor the project’s progress by conducting periodic inspections. Additionally, the contractor for Sector ‘C’ assured the governor that a substantial portion of the project would be completed before the end of the year. The former Special Project Director for Sector ‘A’ commended the contractor’s work, stating that 17 percent of the project had been accomplished thus far. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Engr Fred Edafioghor, accompanied the governor on the project inspection and confirmed that the contractors were working diligently day and night to meet the project deadlines.
