Senate Valedictory Session Rescheduled To Saturday- Lawan

Ahmad Lawan, the President of the Senate, declared on Wednesday that the Senate has rescheduled its valedictory session to Saturday. He informed the Senate Press Corps that the change in date was necessitated by a planned meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the lawmakers of the incoming 10th National Assembly, scheduled for Thursday. Lawan specified that the 10th Senate would be inaugurated on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. He stated, “Tomorrow, Mr President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be meeting with the Senators-elect and members-elect at 2pm. Considering the significance, importance, historical value, and memorable nature of the valedictory session, we believe it requires an entire day, not just a few hours. Therefore, we have moved it to Saturday.” Lawan also mentioned that the 9th Senate’s official four-year term ends on June 11, 2023.
