Transfer: Liverpool Sign Mac Allister From Brighton

Liverpool have completed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, in a deal that could reach £55 million ($69 million), according to reports. The Argentine World Cup winner, aged 24, is seen as the first step in Liverpool’s midfield rebuilding process following their disappointing fifth-place finish in the Premier League. Mac Allister expressed his excitement, describing it as a dream come true and expressing eagerness to start. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp aims to strengthen the midfield after the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The club’s pursuit of Jude Bellingham ended due to financial constraints, leading the player to join Real Madrid. Liverpool has faced criticism for not reinforcing their aging midfield in recent transfer windows. Klopp spoke highly of Mac Allister, highlighting his talent, intelligence, and versatility. Mac Allister, who cost an initial fee of £35 million, will wear the number 10 shirt previously donned by Liverpool legends Sadio Mane, John Barnes, and Michael Owen. The midfielder, who played 112 games for Brighton and made 16 appearances for Argentina, including in their World Cup triumph, expressed his desire to win more trophies with his new club.
