Daniel Bwala, a spokesperson for the campaign council of Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, and an aide to him, issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding the frequent visits of Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, to the presidential villa.
In a tweet, Bwala cautioned that the former PDP governor would soon introduce elements of toxic equity, fairness, and justice into Tinubu’s administration.
He stated: “There is a former PDP governor who visits the Presidential villa daily, behaving like a bus conductor. He will soon introduce poisonous ideas of equity, fairness, and justice into the administration.”
After Tinubu’s inauguration, Nyesom Wike visited the Presidential Villa three times within a week.
It is worth mentioning that during the general elections, the G-5 former governors refused to support their political party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, as they demanded the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.
According to reports from Waffi TV, President Bola Tinubu met with Nyesom Wike, James Ibori (former governor of Delta State), and Seyi Makinde (Governor of Oyo State) at the State House in Abuja on Friday evening.
Earlier this week, the president also met with the PDP governor and former governors, confirming speculations that the former governors were eager to secure appointments from the new administration. It is noteworthy that Ortom and Ikpeazu failed to win their senatorial elections.
