President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), AbdulRasheed Bawa, to be suspended indefinitely from his position. This decision was made in order to facilitate a thorough investigation into his conduct during his tenure.
According to a statement issued by Willie Bassey, the Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the suspension comes in response to serious allegations of abuse of office that have been leveled against Mr. Bawa.
The statement further explained that Mr. Bawa has been instructed to immediately transfer the responsibilities of his office to the Director of Operations at the Commission. This individual will oversee the functioning of the Chairman’s office until the investigation is concluded.
