Ronaldo Nazario, the legendary Brazilian footballer, has expressed his support for Lionel Messi, the captain of Argentina, to clinch the prestigious Ballon d’Or award in 2023.
Ronaldo believes that Messi is worthy of this accolade due to his exceptional performance in leading La Albiceleste to victory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he scored seven goals and provided three assists.
The 35-year-old Messi, who recently signed for Inter Miami, also secured the French Ligue 1 title and is expected to be a strong contender for the award, facing competition from Erling Haaland of Manchester City.
The former Real Madrid star said (via Albiceleste Talk): “Messi deserves to win the Ballon d’Or.
“I think he will be crowned. He won the World Cup, which is a very big tournament.”
