On Thursday, Olukuluku Kabiru was fatally electrocuted while attempting to vandalize a transformer belonging to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company. The incident took place at a substation located on Camp Road in the Lokoja area of Kogi State.

Michael Eneromi, the manager of the power distribution firm, reported that they were alerted about the incident after discovering the deceased’s body at the substation. He further mentioned that the transformer at that particular station had been a target of frequent acts of vandalism.

”Just last week, we fixed the transformer following a report by the community after it was vandalised. Yesterday, following another report of vandalism on the same transformer, we sent a letter requesting about N1.9m to fix the transformer,” he said.

According to Eneromi, the electrocution of the vandal served as evidence to refute allegations made by certain individuals suggesting that the company’s employees were involved in the vandalism of electricity infrastructure within the state.
