Chef Hilda Receives Guinness World Record Plague

During the contest, Hilda prepared over 100 pots of food, surpassing the previous record set by Lata Tondon (India) in 2019, which stood at 87 hours and 45 minutes.

Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has recently received her Guinness World Record plaque for achieving the longest cooking marathon, weeks after successfully completing the competition. On Monday, Hilda was presented with the plaque, and she excitedly shared a video confirming its receipt, captioned with “Our plaque is here @guinnessworldrecords.”

At the age of 26, Hilda officially became the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon on Tuesday, June 13. The prestigious title was announced by GWR on their website, where they acknowledged Hilda as the latest record holder in the cooking category. In their statement, GWR stated, “After conducting a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with an impressive time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.”

During the contest, Hilda prepared over 100 pots of food, surpassing the previous record set by Lata Tondon (India) in 2019, which stood at 87 hours and 45 minutes.

Furthermore, GWR highlighted that the tweet announcing Hilda’s victory has become their most successful tweet to date. On their official Twitter page, GWR stated, “Yeah, so this is our best-performing tweet of all time, reaching nearly 25 million news feeds.”
