Mujahid Asari Dokubo, a former militant from the Niger Delta, has responded to the Indigenous People of Biafra’s accusation of him being a freedom fighter turned bunkering militant and political thug.
In a widely circulated video on Tuesday night, Dokubo referred to the Igbo people as slaves and emphasized that their sale would have continued if not for the intervention of the British government.
The ex-militant said, “The Igbo people do not know their roots. They don’t have respect for who bought their father. You think every Kalabari man is a Kalabari man.
“See how the Igbo people are dying. They keep saying that I have run away. Look at me; I’m here,” he said.
In the video, Dokubo can be seen showcasing an AK-47 rifle and further stated that the Igbo people are merely seeking attention.
Earlier, Waffi TV reported that Dokubo, during a visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressed his belief that Nnamdi Kanu was a criminal who played a role in the conflicts stemming from the nationwide #EndSARS protests. Dokubo suggested that Kanu should face the consequences for his actions.
In the midst of this, IPOB released a statement through its media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, asserting that Kanu is not a criminal but rather a political prisoner due to his advocacy for an independent state of Biafra.
IPOB emphasized that individuals advocating for the prolonged detention of Nnamdi Kanu in solitary confinement by the Department of State Services (DSS) failed to recognize that engaging in militancy for financial motives falls under the same category as criminals and terrorists.
The pro-Biafra group noted, “From freedom fighter to bunkering militant; from militant to ex-militant; from ex-militant to oil pipeline guard; from pipeline guard to Biafra agitator; from agitator to ex-agitator; from ex-agitator to political thug; from thuggery to a government informant. Wash a pig, clothe a pig, and a pig will always remain a pig.
