Odumosu Dismisses Rumoured Appointment As EFCC Chairman

In an exclusive conversation with our correspondent, Odumosu refuted the claim and attributed it to individuals spreading misinformation. He further advised the public to ignore the information.

By Johnson Atoukudu:

Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu (retd), dismissed the assertion that he had been selected as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

This contradicted reports circulating on various media platforms, which suggested that President Bola Tinubu had appointed Odumosu to lead the anti-corruption agency.

In an exclusive conversation with our correspondent, Odumosu refuted the claim and attributed it to individuals spreading misinformation. He further advised the public to ignore the information.

Odumosu said, “I have been inundated with so many calls and messages between yesterday and today on a purported “EFCC Appointment”.

“I just want to use this opportunity to debunk this information and say it’s totally untrue. This information must have emanated from mischief makers and should be disregarded.”

Waffi TV had reported that the former chairman of the agency, Abdulrasheed Bawa, was suspended by President Bola Tinubu. Tinubu subsequently appointed Abdulkarim Chukkol to assume the role of the agency’s leader in an acting capacity.
