The party’s spokesperson dissociated the party leadership from any alleged meeting involving stakeholders suggesting that the party and its benefits should be handed over to Wike.
By Ike Amadi, Port-Harcourt:
The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted claims that it extended an invitation to former Governor Nyesom Wike to join their party. The APC branded those asserting such claims and advocating for Wike’s membership as impostors. According to the party’s statement, Wike himself is ashamed to align with a party he previously referred to as cancerous.
The State Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, declared that the brutal treatment endured by APC members during Wike’s tenure is ample evidence that Wike has no affiliation with the Rivers State APC. The party’s spokesperson dissociated the party leadership from any alleged meeting involving stakeholders suggesting that the party and its benefits should be handed over to Wike.
Nwauju confidently challenged anyone to produce video evidence of Wike openly campaigning for the APC in the recently concluded elections. He reiterated the party’s commitment to wholeheartedly support the policies and initiatives of the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu.
Nonetheless, the statement cautioned individuals referred to as blackmailers to cease their shameless practice of leveraging the APC’s name to gain favor from desperate politicians seeking relevance at the national level.
