……players expected to depart the club in the summer following their relegation.
By Johnson Atoukudu:
As the number of speculative transfer rumors continues to grow, Everton and Turkish club Besiktas have emerged as potential destinations for Kelechi Iheanacho, the Nigerian striker currently playing for Leicester City.
According to Tribal Football, Everton is considered one of the top Premier League clubs interested in securing the services of the 26-year-old forward, along with Taiwo Awoniyi’s Nottingham Forest.
Iheanacho is among several Leicester City players expected to depart the club in the summer following their relegation.
Besiktas, a prominent team in the Turkish Super Lig, is reportedly prepared to initiate discussions with Leicester City this week regarding Iheanacho.
In the previous season, the Nigerian international had a reasonably solid performance, although not exceptionally remarkable, scoring five goals in the Premier League from eleven starts.
Considering the current state of affairs, it is unlikely that his potential arrival would generate much excitement among Everton supporters, as has been the case with many rumored transfer targets recently.
However, given Everton’s uncertain financial situation, which is a consequence of past transfer market failures, it is perhaps inevitable that such signings would fail to generate significant enthusiasm.
