President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday evening, coming from London in preparation for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations on Wednesday. His Gulfstream jet touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja at 05:05 pm local time, where he received a warm welcome from a crowd of supporters eagerly awaiting his arrival.

This marks the end of his one-week trip, during which he attended a summit hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, focusing on a New Global Financing Pact. Subsequently, he made a private visit to London. On Saturday, the Presidency had announced that Tinubu had canceled his planned return to Abuja on that day.

According to a statement from his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, Dele Alake, Tinubu’s return date was not specified. However, reliable sources within the Presidency confirmed to Waffi TV that the President would be returning to his private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos on Tuesday to celebrate Sallah (Eid-el-Kabir) for the first time in his capacity as President.

“I am certain that he will return to Lagos tomorrow (Tuesday), not Abuja. That’s where he will observe Sallah. The holiday lasts until Thursday, and he may extend his stay until Sunday or Monday next week before returning to Abuja,” the source disclosed.

Tinubu’s return comes at a time of uncertainty regarding his prospective list of ministers, which, according to another source, is nearly finalized and will soon be submitted to the National Assembly.
