The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his warm wishes to Muslims as they observe the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir. He encouraged followers of Islam to follow the example set by Prophet Mohammed by embracing the values of sacrifice demonstrated by the revered Prophet.

In a Sallah message conveyed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, the Governor emphasized that Eid-el-Kabir is a time of love, peace, unity, and sacrifice. He urged all Nigerians to foster peaceful coexistence, displaying love and compassion towards one another regardless of their religious or tribal affiliations.

The Governor also urged Muslims, as well as all citizens of Nigeria, to continue praying for the well-being and progress of the nation. He reassured everyone that the state government was collaborating closely with security agencies to ensure a peaceful and harmonious celebration of Sallah.

Governor Oborevwori congratulated the Muslim community in the state on their joyous occasion and pledged that his administration would maintain a strong partnership with them to advance the state’s development.

He said; “we must use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to reflect further and pray for our country to overcome the many problems confronting it.

“This year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration is coming shortly after a smooth transition from one civil rule to another at the presidency and most of the states of the nation.

“As a people we must be patient with government at all levels as we move to consolidate on the reigns of governance across the country.

“As you celebrate let us learn to be our brother’s keeper by ensuring peaceful co-existence among one another irrespective of tribe and religious belief.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters all over the country on the occasion of the 2023 Eid-el-Kabir,” Governor Oborevwori stated
