The Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced the release of the results for the 2023 Cognitive/Placement Examination, which was conducted on May 20 for primary six pupils.
In a statement issued by Mr. Augustine Oghoro, the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, it was stated that all Chief Inspectors of Education (CIEs) from the 25 Local Government Areas should visit the Department of Examinations and Standards of the Ministry on Monday, July 3, 2023, to collect scratch cards that will allow the candidates to access their results.
The statement highlighted that a total of 115,505 candidates registered for the examination, with 114,245 candidates actually taking the test.
According to the statement, the results revealed that 109,719 candidates, which accounts for 96%, successfully passed the Cognitive/Placement examination, while 4,526 candidates, equivalent to 4%, did not pass.
Candidates were instructed to follow the guidelines provided on the scratch card to access their results. Mr. Oghoro emphasized that those who passed would be assigned to JS 1 for the upcoming 2023/2024 Academic Session, set to commence on September 11, 2023.
