Vice President Kashim Shettima has given his word to the Nigerian people that the administration of President Bola Tinubu will take swift action to resolve the country’s infrastructure deficiencies.
Shettima provided this assurance on Wednesday during his visit to Maiduguri, where he paid his respects to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai El-Kanemi.
He expressed his commitment to tackling all the infrastructure issues in the nation, including the Gamboru Ngala, Dikwa, and Damboa Roads in Borno.
“The Shehu of Borno raised some very poignant issues facing the society, especially with regard to the infrastructural deficit.
“The Shehu talked about issues concerning the roads that should be immediately addressed, especially the Gamboru Ngala and Dikwa Roads. Certainly, it would be addressed and that of Damboa will also be addressed.
“I am here to assure the Shehu of the maximum support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that all the challenges confronting us as a people would be surmounted, “ he said.
Gov. Babagana Umara Zulum, in his statement, praised the vice president as a popular figure and a politician connected to the grassroots.
Zulum emphasized the significance of Shettima’s initial visit to the state as the vice president of the nation, highlighting that it held great importance for the people of Borno and symbolized a return home for their fellow citizen.
The Shehu, in his welcoming comments, commended the vice president as an esteemed native of Borno and highlighted that the overwhelming support from the people reflected the love they held for him.
