The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressed its appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his recent actions of eliminating petrol subsidies and allowing the Naira currency to freely float. Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, the chairman of the party in the state, conveyed this sentiment during a press conference held in Benin. Aziegbemi stated that these two economic measures are expected to generate an additional N2 trillion for the country. However, he emphasized that the effectiveness of these policies will be contingent upon the implementation of appropriate measures to alleviate the impact on the general public.
“The two economic policies are the best way to go around the economy that has been grounded.
“I am an economist. So, when I see good economic policies from a distance, I will know,” he said.
