Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech’s anticipated transfer to Saudi Arabia side Al-Nassr for a potential fee of £8 million has fallen through due to concerns raised during his medical examination regarding a knee problem. The Moroccan winger was on the verge of a highly lucrative move, which would have seen him join forces with Cristiano Ronaldo. However, the Daily Mail reports that the nature of the issue makes it unlikely for the deal to be revived, leaving Ziyech’s future uncertain as Chelsea is keen on seeing him leave.

Ziyech is currently considered surplus to requirements at Chelsea, and this failed transfer marks his second unsuccessful attempt to depart from Stamford Bridge. In January, a prospective loan move to PSG also collapsed because Chelsea failed to complete the necessary paperwork before the deadline.

The 30-year-old Ziyech, who was acquired from Ajax for £33 million in 2020, made 24 appearances last season, but the majority of them were as a substitute. Despite having two years remaining on his contract, his tenure with Chelsea has been disappointing.
