The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bomadi branch in Delta State, prayed during their 2023 Solemn Assembly held at Covenant of Glory Int’l Church Inc. in Bomadi. Their prayers included a request for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to bring progress and benefits to the Nigerian people. They also prayed for the empowerment and strengthening of the Christian community in the country.

In addition, prayers were offered for economic growth in Nigeria, particularly in the Niger Delta region and Bomadi council area. During his sermon, Apostle (Dr) Liberty Usiaiyo, the Chairman of CAN, Bomadi branch, emphasized that the church has awakened spiritually, physically, and politically, and is no longer a dormant force.

“This programme, no doubt, is an eye-opener for the church of God which has helped us achieve certain goals since after our maiden assembly last year.

“We’re here again for the second assembly, and I urge you to identify with God, and open your hearts in prayer/worship because God is set to transform the church. For as many that will call on God with genuine heart will go with fresh fire, fresh oil, and new zeal.

“I thank the church of God for coming out en masse to show her strength and lent her voice in the recent general elections in the country, and I pray God to embolden the church more and more”, he said.

Bishop Matthew Boye, addressing the audience under the theme “And The Enemy Submitted,” emphasized the importance of unity within the body of Christ. He urged the members to come together and stand united to effectively counter the strategies and schemes of their common adversary, the devil.

Referencing Bible verses such as Psalm 66:1, 1 Peter 5:8, Revelation 1:9, and Revelation 20:2, the bishop highlighted that the church’s unity serves as an unbeatable weapon in overcoming the devil’s influence.

During the program, prayers were offered for various intentions, including the successful completion of ongoing and abandoned projects in Bomadi, the promotion of peace and development in the Niger Delta region, the fight against malevolent altars, the unity of CAN, the advancement of Nigeria’s economy, and special prayers for President Tinubu and all political leaders.
