Tinubu Meets NNPC Boss, Shell Upstream Director

President Bola Tinubu held a meeting with Ms Zoë Yujnovich, the Shell Global Upstream Director, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), was also present at the meeting. This meeting marked Tinubu’s first official engagement following the Sallah festivities and his recent trips to France on June 20 and London on June 24. Yujnovich, who officially assumed the role of Upstream Director on July 1, has been a member of the Shell Executive Committee since 2021.

Yujnovich arrived at the Aso Rock Villa accompanied by three other Shell officials around 11:45 am. They were then escorted to the President’s office complex for the scheduled meeting at 12:00 noon. The purpose of the meeting was to continue ongoing consultations with leaders from the oil and gas sector, a priority for Tinubu’s administration.

Previously, the President had met with executives from Exxon Mobil, namely Mr Liam Mallon, Mr Richard Laing, and Mrs Adesua Dozie, at the State House. He also had discussions with key figures from the Niger Delta region, including Timi Alaibe, former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NNDC), and Dr Dakuku Peterside, former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.
