Delta: Mob Sets Suspected Phone Thief Ablaze





On Friday, in Delta State, a suspected phone thief was reportedly set on fire by a mob, while two other individuals managed to escape from the scene. The incident took place at Eburu junction, near Eboh road, in Okumagba layout, Warri South Local Government Area.

According to reports, the suspect and two accomplices confronted a young man with the intention of forcefully taking his phone from him. The brave young man resisted their attempts. In response to his resistance, one of the criminals fired a shot, but the bullet failed to harm him.

In a panic, the two remaining criminals fled to avoid being harmed, leaving the unfortunate deceased behind. The mob, alerted by the victim’s cries for help, proceeded to set the suspect on fire using discarded motor tires.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident during a telephone conversation with our correspondent.
