A tragic incident occurred in Las Vegas, resulting in the death of a toddler who accidentally shot himself. The child, identified as 2-year-old Jaiangelis Stevenson, was at a caregiver’s house near Nellis Air Force Base when the incident took place on Sunday around 6:30 p.m. Local media outlet KLAS reported that the boy shot himself in the head in a bedroom. He was immediately taken to University Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the case to determine if there was any abuse or neglect involved. Jaiangelis’ aunt, Paris Box, revealed that he was under the care of a family member while his mother was at work at the time of the shooting.
“We would actually call him ‘Blue’ because of his eyes,” she recalled of the youngster.
“He would be like ‘Hi, Ti Ti’ and he would be walking around with his little popsicle.”
The family is working on accepting what happened, Box added.
“A child was shot with someone else’s gun and that is negligence, but I don’t know what happened,” she said.
“Because I know everyone’s heart involved, I don’t have hate in my heart, I’m disappointed a little bit, but I know that was not meant to happened”.
