Inter Miami, an American club team, is preparing to officially introduce Lionel Messi, the former star of PSG, during the CONCACAF Gold Cup final this Sunday. According to The Athletic, which has been informed by multiple sources, there are plans to broadcast a presentation about Messi joining the club at halftime of the football final.
The report also states that MLS has initiated negotiations with Fox and Univision to broadcast part of Messi’s official unveiling as an Inter Miami player. The event is scheduled to take place at 8pm ET in Florida on July 16 and is expected to include Messi’s former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
This transfer is considered the most significant in the history of the US soccer league division since 2007, when David Beckham, the co-owner of Messi’s new club and a legendary figure from Real Madrid and Manchester United, made a groundbreaking move to the LA Galaxy. Messi might make his debut for Inter Miami as early as next week, on July 21, in a match against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.
