Just under two months after the murder of two police officers by gunmen, another police officer named Jude Ukpaka, associated with Dragon 19 and serving in the Ughelli Area Command, was fatally shot and had his Ak-47 rifle stolen by suspected gunmen in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to information gathered by Waffi TV, the officer and two of his colleagues were stationed at a checkpoint along the Ogor-Evwreni axis of the East-West road when the unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday evening. There are unconfirmed reports suggesting an earlier attack on travelers returning from Bayelsa on the same day, which took place in the morning at nearly the same location as the subsequent killing in the evening.

It is worth noting that two months ago, PC Ujeyah Matthew and Sergeant Ijebu, who were attached to the Ofuoma division, were also killed, and their firearms were stolen at Ekredjebor community in Ughelli North. Despite attempts to reach the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, through phone calls and text messages, there has been no response at the time of this report. However, a senior security source from the Delta State Police Command, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident and revealed that the other officers managed to escape into the nearby swamp.
