Human rights advocate, Omoyele Sowore strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s government, referring to it as a regime characterized by ‘renewed shege’. Sowore expressed his opinion in response to Tinubu’s announcement to offer six months of palliative care to the Nigerian population.
Tweeting, Sowore wrote: “The govt of #RenewedShege! So, @officialABAT is going to provide palliative of N53 per day for 6 months?
“Jokes carried too far! These guys don’t rate Nigerians! #Revolutionnow.”
Tinubu recently announced a proposal to distribute N8,000 to 12 million impoverished households in the country. He stated that the monetary assistance would be disbursed to disadvantaged Nigerians within the upcoming six months.
The president’s initiative was outlined in a letter addressed to the House of Representatives, which pertained to the $800 million loan request made by the former administration of President Muhammadu Buhari for the social safety net program. Tinubu urged the House of Representatives to ensure the loan’s approval.
