Victory Gbakara emerged as the winner of the eighth season of Nigerian Idol, as announced on Sunday night. Gbakara, along with Precious Mac, made it to the final round of the reality TV show. Quest was eliminated in the previous week, leaving Victory and Precious to compete for the coveted grand prize. As the winner, Victory received a reward of 80 million naira, a brand new SUV, a year’s supply of Biggi drinks, and a weekend getaway trip to Cape Town, South Africa.
The live show commenced on Sunday, May 28, 2023, featuring the top 10 contestants who had successfully endured the intense battles and final judgment during Theatre Week. Among 29 exceptionally talented singers, the judges selected 10 individuals who demonstrated the potential to perform live and earn the audience’s votes.
