The DELTA State House of Assembly has completed the screening process and given approval to nine out of 26 nominees put forward by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. These nominees are to be appointed as Commissioners and members of the State Executive Council.
The first batch of the screening exercise, which took place on Tuesday, was overseen by the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor. Among the confirmed nominees are Hon Joan Onyemaechi (from Aniocha North Local Government Area), Pat Ajudua (Oshimili North), Chief Fidelis Tilije (Ukwuani), Hon Godknows Angele (Burutu), Dr Joseph Onojaemo (Isoko North), Orode Uduaghan (Warri North), Mrs Rose Ezewu (Okpe), Hon Reuben Izeze (Ughelli South), and Sunny Ekedayen (Uvwie).
During the screening, the Assembly members representing their respective constituencies introduced the nominees. After the process, the Majority Leader of the House, Hon Emeka Nwaobi, proposed separate motions for the confirmation of each nominee, which were then adopted.
Speaker Guwor praised his colleagues for their thoroughness during the exercise and extended congratulations to the nominees on their appointments.
