De Bruyne Ruled Out For 4 Months With ‘Serious’ Hamstring Injury

Manchester City is facing the possibility of Kevin De Bruyne’s absence for the remainder of the year, as manager Pep Guardiola revealed on Tuesday that he might need to undergo surgery for a hamstring injury. De Bruyne was forced off the pitch early during City’s 3-0 victory against Burnley at the start of the Premier League season last Friday.

This setback comes after De Bruyne suffered a similar hamstring injury just over two months ago in the Champions League final, where City emerged victorious against Inter Milan to secure their first European championship.

“It’s a serious injury,” said Guardiola ahead of the UEFA Super Cup between City and Sevilla in Athens. “We have to decide surgery or not surgery.”

He added: “Surgery I think will be three or four months out.”
