No Plans To Hike Fuel Pump Price- NNPCL Breaks Silence

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited has dismissed circulating claims about a potential increase in fuel pump prices across the country. NNPC Limited made this clarification in a statement released on Monday. This response from the company comes amidst rumours of an impending rise in fuel pump prices.

Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), had warned of an unannounced strike in response to any fuel pump price hike.

“Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage and do not intend to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated. Please buy the best quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide”, the Company wrote.

It should be noted that the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria indicated that if the value of the Dollar keeps increasing in the foreign exchange market, an increase in fuel prices is likely to happen. In the previous month, fuel retailers raised the prices at the pump to more than N600 per liter.
