Adekunle Gold, the Nigerian musician also known as Adekunle Kosoko, expressed his dismay over the significant sums that Premier League team Chelsea is currently investing in player acquisitions during this transfer period.
It’s worth noting that Chelsea has already expended €323 million on transfers in the ongoing 2023 summer window. Their most recent acquisition, Moises Caicedo, was secured from Brighton for a British-record fee of €116 million (£100 million), which could potentially escalate to €133 million (£115 million) with attainable additional payments.
Taking to his Twitter account on Tuesday, Adekunle Gold, an enthusiastic supporter of Premier League rival Manchester United, voiced his opinion that Chelsea’s extravagant expenditures are negatively impacting the integrity of the sport.
He wrote, “Man! Chelsea ruined the market this season! Where una see money?”
