I’m Yoruba Man From Nigeria -Ex-Togo International Adebayor

Ex-Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor revealed in a recent TVC interview that he considers himself Nigerian, even though he played for Togo internationally. He mentioned being of Yoruba descent from Nigeria but growing up in Togo.

He said: “My father’s name is Adeyi Adebayor, and my mother’s name is Alice Eniola Adekanye. So, I am a pure Yoruba man. I was just born and raised in Togo, but I am fully from Nigeria.”

The 39-year-old veteran forward, a former African Player of the Year, shared this information while discussing his participation in a commemorative match organized by African football legends to celebrate the 50th birthday of former Super Eagles captain Austin Jay Jay Okocha.
