Nigeria’s currency, the Naira, experienced a decline to N900 against the Dollar in the parallel market on Wednesday. Ahmed Gazali, a Bureau De Change Operator, confirmed this rate to Waffi TV on Thursday morning. In contrast, the Naira was valued at N773.42 against the Dollar in the official market.
This marks a slight decrease of 0.35% compared to the Naira’s Tuesday value of N770.72 against the Dollar. Interestingly, this change occurred shortly after the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Olawale Edun, resumed his duties.
Just earlier this week, Waffi TV reported that the Naira had traded at N850/$1 in the parallel market. Notably, the Central Bank of Nigeria introduced new policy guidelines for BDCs and a Price Verification Portal aimed at curbing forex speculation.
