In anticipation of the impending conclusion of the current local government executive’s tenure, Party faithfuls from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have begun gearing up for the upcoming local government elections. One prominent contender vying for the chairmanship position in Warri South West is Engr. Don Dickson Ogugu, representing Isaba kingdom.

Engr. Ogugu recently made a strategic move in his bid for the chairmanship position by paying a consultative visit to HRM. Monbene III, Pere Ama-okosu of Ogbe Ijoh Warri Kingdom. During this visit, he formally announced his candidacy for the council chairmanship elections.

Addressing the gathering, Engr. Ogugu conveyed his readiness to stand as a representative of the People’s Democratic Party. He emphasized his commitment to the role and humbly sought the support and prayers of the Ogbe-Ijoh people for a successful outcome in the upcoming elections.

In response to Engr. Ogugu’s declaration, HRM. Monbene III, Pere Ama-okosu of Ogbe-ijoh Warri Kingdom, extended a warm welcome to the aspiring candidate. The Pere commended Engr. Ogugu’s bravery in pursuing the council chairman position and offered a prayer for divine guidance throughout the electoral process.

The consultation was graced by the presence of prominent personalities, including chiefs, elders, and young individuals from the Ogbe Ijoh Warri Kingdom.
As the local government elections draw closer, the political landscape in the local government continues to evolve, with candidates like Engr. Don Dickson Ogugu positioning himself to make a mark in the upcoming polls.
