PDP Will Expel Wike At Appropriate Time- Bwala

Daniel Bwala, the ex-spokesperson of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 presidential election, has stated that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), will face expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) when the right moment arrives.

This declaration was made during Bwala’s appearance on the Politics Today program on Channels Television, which occurred on Thursday night. His remarks followed Wike’s challenge to the PDP leadership to either suspend or eject him from the party.

This challenge arose due to Wike’s support for President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his subsequent appointment to Tinubu’s cabinet.

“Why we hardly react to what he (Wike) says is because he loves drama, everybody knows that,” Bwala said.

“The quietness of the party is not weakness…the party knows what it is doing. At the appropriate time, he (Wike) would not only be suspended but expelled. Take that to the bank.”

The PDP leader remarked that although Wike possesses the ability to enhance the development of the FCT, he is merely an “elevated commissioner” and should not assume the authority of a state governor.

Bwala also mentioned that out of the 45 ministers appointed by the President, Wike has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness. However, he cautioned the FCT minister against seeking revenge on his adversaries within the capital city by issuing threats of demolishing their structures.

The PDP figure stated that the minister should refrain from intimidating the inhabitants of the FCT by making threats to destroy buildings in locations that are not originally part of the Abuja Master Plan.

The lawyer asserted that structures like the Aso Rock and various military barracks were not initially included in the FCT Master Plan. Therefore, he suggested that the minister should prioritize demolishing those structures before resorting to “terrifying” the residents of Abuja with demolition ultimatums.
