Tribunal: I Won’t Relent In Quest For Justice- Peter Obi

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, expressed his determination to pursue justice by announcing his intention to appeal the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal delivered on Wednesday.

Obi made this declaration during a press conference in Onitsha, Anambra state, in response to the ruling by the five-man panel, headed by Justice Haruna Tsammani, which upheld President Bola Tinubu’s victory.

“My legal team has already received a firm instruction to file an appeal. I shall not relent in quest for justice, not necessarily for myself, but indeed for our teeming supporters all over Nigeria,” Obi said.

“Electoral litigations will almost be unnecessary and non-existent if the Independent National Electoral Commission discharges its actions creditably… when that body fails, as it did recently, thus subverting the will of Nigerians, the recourse to the judiciary becomes imperative as is now the case,” he added.

“I thank every Nigerian who has supported our cause and campaign for a new Nigeria, characterized by fairness, equity, justice, rule of law, peace, prosperity, inclusiveness, sustainable growth, and development.

A new Nigeria is possible and achievable.”
