Oyo Speaker Emerges Chairman Conference Of Speakers

On Saturday, Adebo Ogundoyin, the Speaker of Oyo State House Assembly, was elected as the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria during the national conference held in Abuja.

This appointment came after Taiwo Oluomo, the Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, withdrew from the race. Ogundoyin takes over from Abubakar Suleiman, the former Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, and is slated to lead for a two-year term.

He said, “We are ready to place the Conference on a higher pedestal by working to make it more relevant in the grand scheme of things in our dear nation. We shall equally ensure a more robust connection and network with other parliaments, parliamentary organisations and various notable institutions across the world,” he added.
