NNPC Retires Employees With 15 Months To Retirement

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has enforced the retirement of all management personnel who are less than 15 months away from their mandatory retirement age.

In a statement made early on a Tuesday morning, the company announced that the retirement of these employees would take place immediately, emphasizing that this decision aligns with its business goals.

This information was conveyed through the company’s official social media account, where it stated,

“In our bid to pursue effective organisational renewal to support the delivery of our strategic business objectives, it has become imperative to rejuvenate our workforce.

“Consequently, in addition to the recent exit of three Executive Vice Presidents, other management staff with less than 15 months to statutory retirement will be exiting the company effective September 19, 2023.

“This is in line with our commitment to scale up NNPC Ltd.’s capabilities through targeted talent management and equal opportunity for all Nigerians.”

Additionally, it was learned that the company conducted restructuring within its senior management ranks, transferring certain senior officials to various divisions of its enterprises, including Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited and Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, among others.

In a report published by Waffi TV on Sunday, the oil company also revealed the appointment of three new Executive Vice Presidents as part of its ongoing reorganization within the multi-billion dollar national corporation.
