The Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, has officially announced that Wednesday, September 27, 2023, will be observed as a public holiday to commemorate the Eil-ul-Maulid celebration, an event significant to Muslim believers.
This declaration was made through a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Oluwatoyin Akinlade, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
In addition, Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to Muslims worldwide for their participation in this year’s celebration.
Furthermore, the minister urged them to embrace and practice the values of love, tolerance, perseverance, and patience, which are profound spiritual virtues exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
