Kano Gov Introduces N20,000 Stipend For Schoolgirls

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, has revealed a new initiative aimed at promoting female education in the state. During his Independence Day address at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata, Kano, the governor announced a stipend of N20,000 for schoolgirls.

This program is designed to incentivize and encourage girls to attend school, with over 45,000 of them set to benefit from this pilot scheme.

He said, “To support girls-child education and encourage parents to send their daughters to school, we are issuing a stipend of N20,000 to over 45,000 girl-child as a pilot scheme to support them to continue schooling. We are also re-introducing the girl-child school buses to transport them to and from schools.”
