Warri, Delta State – H.E. Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, the former deputy governor of Delta State, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the devastating fuel tanker explosion that occurred on the Warri-Benin Expressway this past Sunday.
In a statement on his verified Facebook page, Otuaro said, “I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the victims who tragically lost their lives in a tanker explosion that took place along the Warri-Benin Expressway yesterday. This unfortunate incident was a direct consequence of the deteriorated condition of the federal road.”
The immediate past deputy governor took the opportunity to call upon the federal government, urging them to take immediate action.
“Through this platform, I appeal to the federal government to prioritize the repair of all substandard federal roads within the state,” he added.
“In light of this tragic event, I urge the public to exercise extreme caution, particularly when it comes to the dangerous practice of scoping fuel from tanker incidents. Such actions have a very high risk of leading to catastrophic outcomes, as seen in the recent tragedy. It is crucial for everyone to prioritize safety above all else”
