The Mission Ward branch of Dunamis Church in Makudi’s North Bank area experienced a tragic event on Monday afternoon.
During a prayer session, a building collapse resulted in the loss of a Pastor’s life and left four individuals seriously injured, according to an eyewitness account.
He said: “It was while the prayer session was going on yesterday that the newly constructed building suddenly collapsed killing one of the Pastors.
“We learnt that on the whole there were five persons inside the building when it suddenly came crashing down.
“Though the cause of the collapse is yet to be determined but many are alleging building defect but no one can tell for now.”
The Benue State Police Commissioner, Mr. Batholomew Onyeka, verified the situation, stating that one individual had tragically lost their life, and four others had suffered injuries.
Although the Church had indicated their intention to release a statement regarding the incident, as of the time of this report, the statement was still pending.
