Ilebaye Odiniya, known as Baye, a 22-year-old model from Kogi, emerged as the winner of Big Brother Naija All-Stars and was awarded the grand prize of N120 million, along with an Innoson SUV and various other prizes. The award ceremony took place at the BBNaija House in Ilupeju, Lagos on Tuesday.
Baye’s victory in the reality show, after 70 days in the Big Brother house, marked the second time a contestant from Northern Nigeria had won the competition, with the first being Katung Aduwak from Kaduna in the inaugural season of 2006.
In the 2023 edition of the show, Baye secured her win by outperforming 23 other housemates, earning 30.08% of the total votes cast. The 2019 winner, Mercy Eke, was the first runner-up with 23.48% of the votes.
In addition to the cash prize and SUV, Ilebaye received a weekend getaway for two from Travel Beta, a Techno phone, Nexus appliances, a year’s supply of Pepsi, Dano milk, Munch It, Waw, Hawaii soap, Titus, Lush hair, and Sardine products.
The white 2023 IVM G5T sports utility vehicle (SUV) from Innoson was described by the company’s CEO as “The Perfect Victory Ride” for the winner.
“I dedicate all these prizes to my Gen Z Baddies. This is a proof that you should not underestimate yourself. I came into the House with no strategy but with plenty of belief. I never thought I could win, it never occurred to me. I came for the fun and the fun saw me through. When I came the first time, I stayed in the house for 3 weeks and honestly, I felt I would spend just 2-3 weeks,” she said, in chat short chat with press men at the event.
