President Bola Tinubu has forwarded a letter to the Senate, urging them to confirm three additional ministerial candidates.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio presented the letter from President Tinubu, requesting the lawmakers’ confirmation of the nominees during the Tuesday plenary session.
The three nominees in question are Balarabe Abbas Lawal from Kaduna State, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State, and Mr. Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State.
In August 2023, the Senate had previously scrutinized and approved 45 ministerial candidates, while rejecting three, with former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai being a notable omission.
The other two nominees who were denied confirmation at that time were Stella Okotete from Delta State and Abubakar Danladi from Taraba State.
