Barcelona’s injury troubles persist as defender Jules Kounde was forced to leave the field during Sunday’s match against Granada, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Kounde, a pivotal figure in Barcelona’s defense this season, hobbled off after a collision with teammate Gavi while attempting to clear the ball. Although he briefly continued, Granada’s Bryan Zaragoza bumped into him shortly after.
According to the official medical report from Barcelona, Jules Kounde has suffered a sprained MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament), rendering him unavailable for selection as he embarks on the recovery process. Consequently, he will miss upcoming matches, including a crucial El Clásico, and will not be able to participate in international duties with the French national team.
Due to the severity of his injury, Kounde is expected to be sidelined for approximately five weeks, joining other injured players like Pedri Gonzalez, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Frenkie De Jong on the sidelines.
