The Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Senator Douye Diri, appears to be on the path to victory in the Bayelsa State governorship election as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commences the announcement of results.
In the reported results from Ogbia, Kolokuma/Opokuma, and Yenagoa Local Government Areas, the PDP leads with 38,475 votes.
Notably, in Ogbia LGA, PDP secured 18,435 votes against APC’s 16,319 and LP’s 57 votes, as disclosed by the State Returning Officer, Prof. Kuta Farouk.
In Kolokuma/Opokuma, PDP garnered 18,465 votes, surpassing APC’s 5,349 and LP’s 22 votes. Yenagoa LGA witnessed PDP with 37,777 votes, compared to APC’s 14,534 and LP’s 244, amidst 218,394 registered voters.
