The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate and current Governor, Senator Douye Diri, is on track for victory in the Saturday governorship elections, securing five out of the six announced local government areas by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Following the break, additional results revealed PDP winning in Sagbama and Ekeremor LGAs, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) claimed victory in Nembe LGA.
The PDP candidate had previously triumphed in Yenagoa, Kolokuma/Opokuma, and Ogbia LGAs. Presently, PDP has amassed 137,909 votes, leading over APC with 73,503 votes. Results for Brass and Southern Ijaw LGAs are pending, with collation adjourned by the State Returning Officer, Prof Farouk Kuta.
