The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hope Uzodimma, winner of last Saturday’s governorship election.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured victory in 27 local government areas during the recently concluded election.
The collation process, overseen by Prof Abayomi Fashina, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, as the state Returning Officer for INEC, began in Owerri at 02:30 am on Sunday.
The APC, PDP with Samuel Anyanwu, and Labour Party’s Achonu Nneji were the main contenders among the 18 parties fielding candidates. INEC reported a total of 2,419,922 registered voters, with 2,318,919 PVCs collected.
