Sughshater Ushahemba, a young woman from Mbadyul Council Ward in Logo Local Government Area, Benue State, has been arrested by the Benue State Police Command for the alleged killing of her 11-month-old baby.
The arrest was confirmed on Monday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, who stated that the suspect is undergoing further investigation. The lady is accused of causing the child’s death by administering a weed-killing chemical after feeding her.
Mr. Paul Pevikyaa, the Information Officer of Logo LGA, verified the incident and noted that the woman provided conflicting accounts of the baby’s demise during her interview.
