Electricity workers, in response to the indefinite strike called by organized labour unions, have ceased operations on the national grid.
Ndidi Mbah, spokesperson for the Transmission Company of Nigeria, provided exclusive confirmation on Tuesday.
She stated that the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) adhered to the directives of the Nigeria Labour Congress and halted their services at approximately 11:20 am on Monday, resulting in a complete blackout across the nation.
“Electricity workers are NLC members; they’ve followed the directive by organized labour to withdraw their services from Tuesday”, she stated.
